Bellator MMA will return to the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma, on November 20th for a fight that puts the explosive Hisaki Kato and the dangerous Melvin Manhoef on a collision course for the Spike TV main event.

He was a virtual unknown in the United States before fighting Joe Schilling, but Hisaki Kato became famous thanks to a flying Superman punch that left “Stitch ‘Em Up” cold on the canvas at Bellator 139.

His next opponent knows a thing or two about explosive highlight-reel finishes as well. Melvin Manhoef has 27 knockouts in kickboxing and 29 in mixed martial arts (MMA), and he ruined Doug “The Rihino” Marshall’s night in one round nearly one year ago.

Since that time, things have not gone as well for “No Mercy,” after losing a fight to the aforementioned Schilling, then being knocked out by Alexander Shlemenko in a fight ultimately ruled a no contest due to performance-enhancing drug (PED) abuse by Shlemenko.

The controversy of Manhoef’s last fight opens the door for him to prove he can fare much better against a clean opponent, but with differing results against a common foe, the old “MMA math” will be highly debated in “Kato vs. Manhoef.”

Their middleweight fight has been scheduled to be the main event of Bellator 146 on Spike TV at the WinStar World Casino and Resort on Nov. 20, 2015 in Thackerville, Oklahoma. Other bouts will be announced at a later date.
